Ten years of difficulty eating: a Jeju City patient’s three-year review after full-arch implants
Referred by a dental clinic in Jeju City to Hyungje Dental in Seogwipo, this patient received upper and lower full-arch implants with a redesigned bite. This record follows treatment through a three-year review.
Treatment at a glance
- Initial findings
- The front-tooth midlines did not align and the chewing plane was tilted. The patient reported difficulty eating for about ten years.
- Treatment plan
- We aligned tooth positions with the centre of the face and redesigned the upper–lower bite.
- Treatment
- Both jaws received full-arch implant treatment. Temporary teeth were fitted the next day, followed later by the final restorations.
- Follow-up
- Three years after treatment, the patient travelled from Jeju City for a routine review in September 2026.
About ten years of difficulty eating
I am Dr. Soohyun Ko, lead dentist at Hyungje Dental. This patient visited a clinic in Jeju City and was referred to us. After full-arch treatment in early 2023, the patient continues to travel to Seogwipo for check-ups three years later.
The patient reported that the teeth had not met comfortably after previous dental treatment in Jeju City, making meals difficult for about ten years.
At the first visit, the upper and lower front-tooth midlines did not align, and the chewing plane was markedly tilted. We planned full-arch treatment for both jaws to reset tooth positions and the bite.

Using the face as a reference for the midline and bite
We combined facial scans, oral scans and CT records to design the front-tooth positions and chewing plane around the centre of the face. We first planned where the completed teeth would sit, then planned the implant positions to support them.

Temporary teeth fitted the day after surgery
Extractions and implant placement were performed on the day of surgery. Temporary teeth were made to reflect the planned positions and bite. The patient stayed overnight in Seogwipo and received the temporary teeth the next day.

The final restorations
This photograph shows the final restorations after the temporary-teeth stage. Compared with the pretreatment photographs, it shows the front-tooth midlines and the relationship between the upper and lower teeth.

Planning visits carefully for patients travelling from Jeju City
This panoramic X-ray was taken at the routine review in September 2026. We checked the gums around the implants, the restorations and bite, and asked about any discomfort during meals.
Care that began with a referral from a Jeju City clinic continues through the three-year review. Full-arch treatment includes maintenance after the final teeth are fitted.
For patients travelling from Jeju City, we consider travel time alongside treatment appointments. We explain the treatment and visit schedule in advance and aim to make continuing care and regular reviews manageable.
