IMPLANT CARE

HYUNGJE DENTAL · SEOGWIPO

Dental implants in Seogwipo, JejuOne plan, from diagnosis to the final restoration

At Hyungje Dental Clinic, we first check whether your remaining natural teeth can be preserved. If implants are needed, CT imaging and an intraoral scan help us assess your jawbone and bite.

We plan surgery around the final restoration and use a digital guide to apply that plan. Dr. Soohyun Ko, a board-certified specialist in Integrated Dentistry, personally plans your care from diagnosis through maintenance.

FULL-ARCH IMPLANTS

Very few teeth left, or uncomfortable dentures?

If dentures move during meals or your remaining teeth make chewing difficult, you can ask about full-arch implants. We examine which teeth can be retained, the jawbone and your general health before explaining suitable options.

Whether you are seeking care for yourself or accompanying a parent, tell us what is most uncomfortable. We explain temporary teeth, eating during treatment, the visit schedule and ongoing care.

IMPLANT REVISION

If an older implant feels loose or painful

We first distinguish a problem with the restoration or screw from a problem with the implant itself or surrounding bone. We assess whether the existing implant can be retained. If removal is necessary, we plan replacement, any grafting and the final restoration together.

DIGITAL IMPLANT DESIGN

Planning implant positions with CT imaging and an intraoral scan

We determine the position of the final restoration first, then plan the angle and depth of the implants.

CT and intraoral scan data used to plan implant positions around the final restoration at Hyungje Dental Clinic
03 · DESIGNImplant planning based on CT imaging and an intraoral scan
  1. 01 · CTAssess bone and nearby structures

CT imaging shows the width and height of the jawbone, the extent of inflammation, and the positions of the nerve canal and maxillary sinus.

  2. 02 · SCANRecord the teeth, gums and bite

An intraoral scan records the shape of the teeth and gums, missing-tooth spaces and how the upper and lower teeth meet.

  3. 03 · DESIGNPlan the final restoration

We review the CT and intraoral scan together to determine the position of the final restoration, then plan the angle and depth of the implants that will support it.

  4. 04 · SURGERYUse a digital surgical guide

A digital guide transfers the planned position and direction to the surgical site. The plan may be adjusted according to findings during surgery.

  5. 05 · PROSTHESISTemporary teeth, final restoration and care

Initial implant stability and biting forces help determine when temporary teeth can be used. We then complete the final restoration and continue regular check-ups.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before implant treatment

01What examinations are needed before implant treatment?

We first examine the remaining teeth and gums. If implants are needed, CT imaging helps assess the jawbone and surrounding structures, and an intraoral scan records the teeth, gums and bite.

02Do you check whether a natural tooth can be saved first?

Yes. We assess root fractures, the extent of decay and bone loss, and how long the tooth is likely to remain usable after treatment. We then explain whether preserving the tooth or extraction is appropriate.

03How is a digital surgical guide used?

At Hyungje Dental Clinic, we normally use a digital guide based on CT imaging and an intraoral scan. It helps apply the implant position and direction planned around the final restoration during surgery.

04Can an implant be placed on the day a tooth is removed?

This depends on the extent of inflammation, the bone and gums remaining after extraction, and the initial stability of the implant. If these conditions are insufficient, we allow healing before placing the implant.

05When is bone grafting needed?

We consider grafting when there is insufficient jawbone to place an implant securely in the planned position. CT imaging helps identify the deficient area so that only the necessary extent of grafting is planned.

06How are fees and aftercare explained?

Fees depend on the scope of extractions, bone grafting, temporary teeth and the final restoration. We explain the individual items after diagnosis. After treatment, we regularly check the gums, restoration and bite.
