A damaged second molar was restored with composite resin under rubber-dam isolation while preserving the remaining tooth.

Initial findings: The molar had an existing restoration and damaged areas.
Treatment plan: We removed damaged tissue and chose direct restoration while preserving the remaining tooth.
Treatment: Resin was used to rebuild the molar under rubber-dam isolation.
After treatment: After removing the rubber dam, we checked the restored tooth in the mouth.

We examined the existing restoration and the extent of damaged tooth tissue.

Damaged tissue was removed in stages while preserving healthy tooth wherever possible.

Resin was built up in stages, taking account of the contact with the adjacent tooth and the chewing surface.

The molar’s form and function were restored while preserving the remaining tooth.

After removing the rubber dam, we checked the relationship with the surrounding teeth and the final appearance in the mouth.
